ISLAMABAD: Asian Tennis Federation’s (ATF) Member Board of Directors Senator Salim Saifullah Khan and Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) President Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi had a fruitful discussion with the ITF officials during the AGM meeting in Hong Kong. “We expect a positive response from the ITF in coming days, aiming at developing tennis in Pakistan,” Saifullah who is also patron-in-chief of PTF, said.

“It is always an honour to represent Pakistan at such a high-level meeting. We discussed strategic plans for the future of tennis, which will contribute to the growth and development of the sport. We will continue to work on the development of tennis in Asia and in Pakistan,” he said.

Aisam, attending the ITF AGM for the first time as PTF president, received a warm welcome from ITF President David Haggerty, Asian Tennis President Yuriy Polskiy and other federation heads.

Aisam said: “It was a very positive and enriching experience to attend the AGM as president of the federation. We had meaningful interactions with heads of tennis federations in the world. It was a wonderful experience, and we made valuable contacts including David Haggerty (President-ITF), Yuriy Polskiy (President-ATF), Bulat Utemuratov (President-Kazakhstan Tennis Federation), Abdul Redha J. Al Ghareeb (President-Kuwait Tennis Federation), Mario Monroy (President-Peru Tennis Federation), Dietloff von Arnim (President-German Tennis Federation), Iqbal Bin Issack (President-Sri Lanka Tennis Association), Mutassim Hamood Sangor Al Zadjali (President-Oman Tennis Association), Michael Cheng (President-Hong Kong Chinese Tennis Association), Ceslav Ciuhrii (President-National Tennis Federation of Moldova), and Eziz Dovletov (President-Turkmenistan Tennis Federation). I am confident that the outcome of these discussions will lead to significant improvements for tennis in Pakistan. Insha’Allah, we will continue working with all of them to promote and develop tennis in the region and our country.”
