PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi on Friday said that all the legitimate demands of the Pashtun Tahaffuz Movement-convened Pakhtun Qaumi Jirga would be addressed through dialogue.
“Being a Pakhtun I will participate in the Jirga,” he told reporters and termed firing on the members of the jirga a tragic incident. The KP governor said there should be no anti-state diatribe in the gathering while no flag of any other country should be waived.
“There will be dialogue with those who accept the Constitution of Pakistan while no talks will be held with those who do not accept the Constitution,” he added.Faisal Karim Kundi said that positive change had been seen in the politics of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the last couple of days.
Forgetting political differences for peace and prosperity was a good development, he said, adding the political leadership in the province evolved consensus on a one-point agenda of peace a day earlier.
“We have formed a committee to hold discussion with PTM. After the 18th amendment, the powers were with the provinces so the committee gave all the powers to the chief minister,” said the governor KP. He added that Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi had played an important role yesterday
“The Pakistan People’s Party believes in democracy. It has made great sacrifices for democracy and the constitution,” said the governor. He maintained that the PPP had never gone against the state and institutions.
