A massive fire erupted at a restaurant located in the Sindhi Muslim Society area of Karachi on Thursday.

The fire erupted at around 12:30pm. Upon receiving the information, fire tenders from the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation and Rescue 1122 were sent to the location.

Initially, two fire tenders participated in the extinguishing work; however, six more fire tenders joined them later due to the intensity of the blaze. The firefighters took at least three hours to control the fire.

Fortunately, all staff members of the restaurant were safely evacuated. According to the fire brigade, the fire broke out at the first floor of the restaurant and later spread to other floors partially. The actual cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. Further investigations are under way.
