‘Rs476.5bn tax revenue collected’

LAHORE:Punjab Revenue Board's contribution to the province's total tax revenue for the fiscal year 2023-24 amounted to Rs476.5billion, said Senior Member Board of Revenue, Punjab, Nabeel Javed in a meeting on tax recovery.

The session was attended by Member Colonies Abdul Waheed Malik, Member Taxes Zaman Wattoo, Secretary S&C Rana Hameed, Director PCPL, Director Roads, and other senior officials.

During the meeting, Nabeel Javed shared that the Punjab Revenue Board's contribution to the province's total tax revenue for the fiscal year 2023-24 amounted to Rs476.5billion. By August 2024, Rs2,446 million was collected under land revenue mutation fees, while Rs5,309 million came from stamp duties. Additionally, a recovery of Rs17,835million was made under the water tax category (Abyana). The senior member also highlighted that 102,693 acres of state land were leased for agricultural purposes in 2023-24, generating Rs1.704billion between July 2023 and May 2024. He announced that the tax recovery system is being digitised to prevent tax evasion and enhance efficiency.
