LAHORE:Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan administered oath to Ayesha Hamid, the first woman to hold the post of Ombudsperson Punjab, here at the Governor’s House on Wednesday.
Secretary Implementation and Coordination, Rafaqat Ali Niswana read out the notification of appointment of Ombudsman Punjab. Former Provincial Ombudsman Maj (retd) Azam Sulaiman, former governor Shahid Hamid, former federal minister Zahid Hamid, Principal Secretary to Punjab Governor, Capt (retd) Saqib Zafar, chairman NHA Shahryar Sultan, Jahanzeb Khan and others attended ceremony.
Meanwhile, Punjab governor attended the IT symposium event at Governor’s House. The event was organised in collaboration with Dr Jahangir Badar Institute of Vision and Leadership and Tech Titans Pakistan.
Addressing the ceremony, the governor said that there are many opportunities to progress in the IT sector. He said that our youth are very talented, adding that youth should get IT and technical education so that they may be able to get jobs after completing their studies.
He said that the services of youth tech leaders to create employment opportunities for the youth and promote IT exports are commendable. The governor said that the youth has an important role in the development of the country. At the end of the ceremony, the governor gave appreciation shields to the tech CEOs.
