SNGPL, Ashal Associates, State Bank secure victories

LAHORE: Defending champions SNGPL (Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited), Ashal Associates, and State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) emerged victorious in Wednesday’s President One Day Cup matches.

The day’s highlights included Muaz Sadaqat’s century for KRL and Kashif Bhatti’s outstanding all-round performance for State Bank.

SNGPL vs PTV

At Lahore’s Gymkhana Ground, SNGPL defeated PTV by 93 runs. SNGPL, batting first, scored 249 runs for 9 wickets in their allotted 45 overs. Haseebullah contributed 54 runs, while Muhammad Hasnain took three wickets for PTV.

In response, PTV only managed 156 runs for 9 wickets in 35.5 overs. Imam-ul-Haq was unable to bat. Sahibzada Farhan top-scored with 58 runs. Qasim Akram was the pick of the bowlers for SNGPL, taking 3 wickets for just 9 runs.

Ashal Associates vs Ghani Glass

At Iqbal Stadium, Faisalabad, Ashal Associates defeated Ghani Glass by 5 wickets. Ghani Glass, batting first, were all out for 178 runs. Mohsin Riaz was the top scorer with 51 runs. Usman Tariq claimed three wickets.

Ashal Associates chased down the target in the 34th over, losing five wickets. Sajjad Ibrahim remained unbeaten on 61 runs, including four sixes and four fours. Rameez Junior took three wickets.

State Bank vs KRL

In a rain-affected 42-over match at Abbottabad Stadium, State Bank overcame KRL by 2 wickets. KRL, batting first, posted a challenging 275 runs for 9 wickets. Muaz Sadaqat scored a brilliant 114 runs off 84 balls, including 6 sixes and 12 fours. Aamir Barki contributed 82 runs with 5 sixes and 5 fours. Kashif Bhatti took three wickets.

State Bank achieved the target on the last ball of the match, finishing at 276 for 8 wickets. The victory was largely due to Kashif Bhatti’s aggressive batting, as he scored an unbeaten 49 off just 24 balls, including 4 fours and 3 sixes. Muhammad Faizan also contributed 63 runs with 10 fours and a six.
