LAHORE: The highly anticipated FIBA statisticians workshop got underway in Islamabad on Wednesday. This groundbreaking event marks a crucial step in elevating the sport to international standards within the country.
The workshop has drawn 11 talented candidates from various regions of Pakistan. These participants have already demonstrated their commitment and skills by successfully completing FIBA training and passing rigorous qualifying exams.
Under the expert guidance of a FIBA ASIA instructor from Bahrain, the workshop aims to train and certify Pakistan’s first-ever cohort of FIBA-licensed statisticians. This specialised group will play a pivotal role in both national and international basketball events, ensuring accurate and professional statistical coverage.
This initiative represents a historic milestone for basketball in Pakistan. By introducing FIBA-licensed statisticians, the country is poised to enhance its technical expertise in high-level competitions, aligning its practices with global standards.
