Crackdown launched against Afghans in Nawabshah
NAWABSHAH: Senior Superintendent of Police Shaheed Benazirabad, Tanweer Husain Tunio said crackdown has been started against Afghan citizens and illegal entrants of other countries under the National Action Plan (NAP), Talking to media on Sunday, SSP Tunio said police parties have been formed for the purpose and would check documents of foreign entrants into the district. He said the tracked illegal entrants would not be spared.
Regarding crime situation in the district, the SSP said six dacoits were killed in police encounters. He said the police have been tasked to clean the district from crimes. Tunio said more than 100 drug sellers were arrested, booked under Narcotics Act and sent behind the bars. He said strong cases established to punish drug sellers severely. He said the police were also tasked to increase patrolling on the National Highway and Kachha area along River Indus.
The SSP said the service of four police officials were terminated on continued absence from duty, while 15 others were terminated on charges of not performing Polio duty. He said strict vigil was being kept on criminals, especially the drug sellers, in order to completely eliminate the crime from the district. He said those selling Gutka, Pan Parag and Mainpuri were enemies of humanity and would face severe action.
The SSP said seven case of contravening Loudspeaker Act were registered and the Ulema advised to use loudspeakers for Azan and Juma Khutba delivered in Arabic. He informed that a most wanted dacoit of Sindh and Balochistan provinces was killed by District police in an encounter. However, his four accomplices escaped, while hunt for arresting the fleecing dacoits has been mounted by the police.
