Youths join drive to make Peshawar drug free

PESHAWAR: Youth from the Youth Gleam Welfare Organization have stepped forward to support Commissioner Peshawar Riaz Khan Mahsud, in the upcoming “Drug Free Peshawar” campaign.

The initiative aims to raise awareness about the dangers of substance abuse, especially among students. The campaign will officially launch next week at University of Peshawar, where an awareness walk will be led by Commissioner Riaz Mahsud.

In a meeting with the commissioner, a delegation from the Youth Gleam Welfare Organization, led by Chairman Gul Haider, discussed the organization’s role in keeping the youth away from drugs. Key members of the organization, including Dr Qazi Shehbaz, Dr Ehtesham, Dr Moin Khan and Muhammad Faheem were also present.

The commissioner has directed the deputy commissioner Peshawar and the District Officer Social Welfare to coordinate with the welfare organization and provide necessary support for the campaign.

“This initiative will help protect our youth from the scourge of drugs, and I urge all stakeholders to support this noble cause,” said Commissioner Riaz Mahsud.The campaign will formally commence in the last week of October, engaging students and the general public through various awareness programs and activities.
