PESHAWAR: A free medical camp will be arranged on October 15 for the underprivileged communities of various villages in the Peshawar district.A communication said the Peshawar Development Foundation, Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University (SBBWU), Pakistan Army and Lady Reading Hospital (LRH) had collaborated to arrange the camp keeping in view the difficulties of poor people.

The camps will be arranged for the people of Larama, Chagharmatti, Ashab Baba, Faqir Kalay, Nasapa Payan, Nasapa Bala, Haryana Payan, Haryana Bala, and Shero Jangi villages.The patients would be given free medicines and offered diabetes and other diagnostic testing facilities at the medical camp.

As many as 10 specialist doctors would be present at the camp. They would include dermatologists, Ear Nose Throat specialists, gynecologists, dentists, pediatricians, pulmonologists, psychiatrists and nutritionists, etc.

A meeting was held at the SBBWU Peshawar to discuss the arrangements for the camp with the volunteer students. SBBWU’s Director of Student Affairs, Professor Dr Farhat Humayun, Deputy Registrar Media, Sehrish Zaffar, LRH Director of Public Relations, Muhammad Asim, and Malik Mubashir Khan were present as well.

PDF Chairman Bilal Sethi said that the current economic situation was a test for philanthropists to see how much they help the poor in such situations. He said inflation had broken the back of the poor people. “In such conditions, access to better health facilities is almost impossible for the poor”, he lamented.Bilal Sethi appreciated the women for volunteering for the activity and told them to be kind to the patients during the camp.
