LAHORE:Inspector General Police (IGP), Punjab, Dr Usman Anwar Monday met cops and their families at Central Police Office and directed police officers to resolve their issues.
The IGP instructed the DIG Welfare to take action on a request for assistance regarding the medical treatment of retired Inspector Zahiruddin Babar's son. He directed the RPO Gujranwala to resolve the residence issue of lady constable Sameera Ramazan, the RPO Sahiwal to handle reinstatement of former Constable Waqas Ali, the AIG Admin to handle recruitment request of the widow of Head Constable Zaka Ullah and solve recruitment issue of the son of martyred Constable M Hanif as a junior clerk. The IGP asked the DIG Welfare to handle the request for medical assistance of the wife of Constable M Sadiq and the CCPO Lahore for official accommodation for the widow of Constable M Arshad.
1,302 kalashnikovs seized in 9 months
Punjab Police have confiscated 1,302 Kalashnikovs and other arms from accused across the province, including Lahore in nine months. According to a police spokesperson, during a drive against illegal arms the police confiscated 1,302 Kalashnikovs, 36,461 pistols, 2,768 shotguns, 2,521 rifles, 603 revolvers, and 262,583 bullets and cartridges from accused.
