Test for free IT courses attracts 5,000 youth

PESHAWAR: Around 5,000 aspirants appeared in the entrance test arranged on Sunday by the Mohsin and Huma Mass IT Training Institute for offering free and advanced information technology (IT) courses.

A communication said the test was held at the Peshawar Sports Complex. Students from Peshawar and adjoining districts appeared for enrolment in different IT courses. The institute was established on August 27, 2023, by Aziz Jan Trust in collaboration with Saylani Welfare Trust.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Aziz Jan Trust, Afan Aziz, welcomed students and guests.Lead Manager of Saylani Mass IT Programme, Wajid Ullah, was present as well. Speaking to the participants, Afan Aziz said the institute was training the youth free of cost with a vision to equip them with the latest IT knowledge, thus generating self-employment through freelancing.

Aziz Jan Trust joined hands with the head of Saylani Welfare Trust, Allama Hazrat Bashir Farooqi, for fulfilling his vision of equipping youth with modern IT skills for fostering opportunities that empower individuals to grow and make earnings.

He said the trainees were offered IT courses in different disciplines, including graphic designing, video animation, IT essentials, Web & Mobile App, Python, AI Chatbot, Techno Kids, CCNA, Cyber Security, Flutter, IT to graphic designing and IT to Web & Mobile App.“Among the 5,000 aspirants who appeared in the entrance test, 1,200 to 1,500 were girls,” said Aqleem Orakzai, head of the institute.

The entrance exam was held for selection of the third batch for the institute of 2,000 students, he added. A total of 1273 youth have availed the opportunity of undergoing different courses from the institute.

Certificates were awarded to around 200 students who were from the previous batch and secured jobs, internships and freelancing after receiving training under different courses from the institute, including graphics, video editing and others.

Afan Aziz apprised participants that Mohsin and Huma Mass IT Training Institute Peshawar was a pilot project and would be replicated in other big cities of KP to provide opportunities for IT learning to a maximum number of youth residing in different parts of the province.He hoped the initiative would benefit hundreds of thousands of youth.
