LAHORE: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is a terrorist group that has repeatedly attacked its own country.
In a statement on ‘X’, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif said, “Whatever I have been saying over the years has come true today before the whole world. PTI is not a political party; it was not one, nor can it be in the future.”
Maryam said, “It is a terrorist group that repeatedly attacks its own country. The state should treat them as it treats terrorists; otherwise, it will be too late.” She highlighted, “Tehreek-e-Insaf’s sole aim is to set the country on fire. It does not deserve any concessions or leniency. Its ranks include terrorists trained on the front lines who are being used to attack police and the state. Which country can afford that?”
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has set a target to elevate the Bank of Punjab to the top of the bank rankings. She directed the bank authorities to implement effective measures for cost control, saying, “The first choice of a depositor should be the Bank of Punjab.” The chief minister received a detailed briefing from the President of the Bank of Punjab, Zafar Masood, on the financial aspects of the chief minister’s welfare schemes.
She reviewed the progress made so far in the ‘Green Tractor Scheme,’ ‘Bike Programme,’ ‘Himat Card,’ ‘Apni Chhat... Apna Ghar,’ and other projects. She was presented with a report on the delivery of interest-free bikes. She directed the relevant authorities to ensure further improvements so students can apply for the bikes digitally from home.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz was informed, “The facility for paying bike installments online has been provided to students. Some 1,591 bikes have been delivered under the CM interest-free bikes initiative.” The chief minister was apprised that “40,000 farmers are being provided with Rs2.5 lakh through the livestock card and 65,000 special persons are receiving payments through Bank of Punjab ATMs across Punjab.”
She was assured the Bank of Punjab is committed to fully supporting the Kisan Card and other public welfare projects of the chief minister.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on Teachers Day said, “Teachers are the real architects of society.” She highlighted, “Spreading the light of knowledge and educating the younger generation is a sacred duty.” The chief minister stated, “A teacher is like a lamp that spreads the light of knowledge in the darkness of ignorance.”
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, while paying rich tribute to the martyrdom of a lieutenant colonel and soldiers during the operation against terrorists in North Waziristan, reiterated, “The sacrifices of martyrs in the war against terrorism will bring flowers of peace, God willing.”
