PESHAWAR: Thousands of people suffered throughout the weekend due to the suspension of internet in Peshawar and other towns in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
A number of people faced hardships in correspondence with their offices and others concerned due to blockade of various applications including WhatsApp. There were reports that the internet applications were not working properly due to the rally of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.
The applications were working with the support of WiFi but people were unable to use it while on the go. This has been happening for the last many months that internet services are restricted during protest rallies, bothering a huge population. There used to be cellular phone networks suspended in different areas on special occasions for the last over a decade. However, now internet services also face restrictions.
