LAHORE: Inamul Haq Malik of Royal Golf Club surged ahead on the second day of the amateur category of the 10th CNS Amateur Golf Tournament here at the Defence Raya Golf & Country Club on Saturday.
After two rounds of intense competition, Inamul Haq Malik emerged as the leader in the amateur category with impressive first and 2nd rounds score of 75 and 72 for a total gross score of 147, which translates to a net score of 139 after factoring in his 4 handicap.
Close on Malik is Rafqat Hussain from Rawalpindi, who carded rounds of 76 and 83 for a total gross score of 159. Hussain's 9 handicap brings his net score to 141, just two strokes behind the leader. Meanwhile, Azhar Hassan and Gen Qasim Qureshi emerged victorious in a day-long gross and net sections of the of the seniors category of the tournament.
Sameer Iftikhar from Gym Khana and Shahmeer Majid from Raya are tied for third place with net scores of 143. Ahmad Nawaz Tiwana from Rawalpindi and Zohaib Hassan from PAF Skyview are not far behind, both sitting at 144 net.
