NOWSHERA: Another man hailing from Nowshera Kalan area here on Friday died from dengue fever.
So far, three people have died from dengue fever in the Nowshera district.
The latest victim identified as Faizanullah, son of Hameedullah, 30, was an employee of the Nowshera Cantonment Board. He had contracted the disease five days ago and had been under treatment at the Qazi Hussain Ahmad Medical Complex in Nowshera. Later, he was shifted to the Intensive Care Unit of the hospital when his condition worsened. He had been put on a ventilator but could not survive and breathed his last.
It may be mentioned that around 87 people were treated at the Isolation Ward at the Qazi Hussain Ahmad Medical Complex. Around 400 dengue patients were brought to the Accident and Emergency Department of the hospital. Around 90 patients were admitted and treated at the District Headquarters Hospital, Nowshera.
Meanwhile, the local people in Nowshera Kalan staged a protest against the poor cleanliness condition of the locality. They demanded the staff of the TMA to carry out fumigation in the area and remove the standing water from various places.
