Three POs killed in Mardan encounter
TAKHT BHAI: Three proclaimed offenders were killed and another sustained injuries in an encounter with the police in the Saro Shah area in Mardan district, official sources said on Saturday.
The sources said acting on information about the presence of four proclaimed offenders, the Mardan and Charsadda police raided a compound in Qaseem Killay in Saro Shah.
The outlaws, who were stated to be brothers, opened fire on the police, the sources said.
They added that the police returned the fire killing Shahid, Majid and Ashfaq on the spot. Another accused, Amjad Khan, sustained injuries in the clash.
The police also recovered two Kalashnikov rifles, four hand- grenades, three pistols and ammunition from their possession. The police termed it an encounter with the wanted men.
