PESHAWAR: Mosquito nets were distributed among people in various dengue affected areas of the provincial capital on Friday.

Commissioner, Peshawar Division, Riaz Khan Mahsud visited the most affected areas and stressed that anti-dengue operations, including preventive spraying and patient care, would continue without interruption, with staff remaining on duty even during weekends

He said that the provincial government was committed to curbing the dengue outbreak.“I am personally overseeing all measures to control the spread of dengue, and I am confident that with our ongoing efforts, the situation will soon be brought under control,” he said. The visit, conducted on the directives of Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Nadeem Aslam Chaudhry, was aimed at reviewing on-ground progress in affected areas.

Leading an awareness walk to promote public awareness about dengue prevention, the commissioner Riaz Mahsud also reviewed the treatment facilities being provided to infected patients. He visited healthcare centres, inquiring about the condition of patients and the medical services available, instructing staff to ensure no lapses in patient care.

Commissioner Riaz Mahsud personally distributed mosquito nets and pamphlets to residents, urging them to take precautionary measures against the virus. Deputy Commissioner Sarmad Salim Akram, District Health Officer Dr. Idrees, and Focal Person for Dengue Control, Anthony Alamzeb were also present on the occasion.
