LAHORE: The Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) on Friday approved four development schemes worth Rs8.507 billion.
The schemes were approved in the 36th meeting of the Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) for CFY 2024-25, chaired by Planning and Development (P&D) Board Chairman Barrister Nabeel Ahmad Awan. The approved schemes included construction of road from Bostal Mor at Expressway to RMK at Brewery, including Link to Lawrence College, Tehsil Murree, Rawalpindi at the cost of Rs1.078 billion, rehabilitation of road from Raiwind to Pattoki, District Kasur at the cost of Rs2.184 billion, rehabilitation of Chunian to Khuddian Road in District Kasur at the cost of Rs1.323 billion and construction of a flyover at Nadirabad Phatak to Industrial Estate Multan at the cost of Rs3.924 billion.
Walton Road inspected
Commissioner Lahore Zaid Bin Maqsood Friday visited under-construction Walton Road Development Scheme and reviewed the progress on the project. CBD CEO Imran Amin briefed the commissioner on the progress of the project.
The commissioner inspected the under-construction road, drains, sewerage, overhead bridge, disposal stations from Walton Road Defence chowk to Chungi Amar Sadhu. On the occasion, the commissioner was told that one side of the road from Defence chowk to Chungi Amar Sadhu was completed and traffic is flowing on it.
The commissioner was told that open drain on Walton Road has been completely demolished and it would be replaced with green belts and overhead bridge would be opened for traffic next week. The commissioner was told that one of the two disposal stations on Walton Road has been completed and the 85 percent of the second one has been completed. He was told that the second side of Walton Road would be completed this month. The commissioner directed the CBD authorities to complete the remaining work of Walton Road according to the stated deadline.
