ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) successfully concluded a three-day auction of 13 commercial plots, generating a revenue of Rs 16.641 billion. The highest bids were accepted on Thursday, with 7 plots sold for Rs 4.206 billion on the final day.
CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa visited the auction site at the Gandhara Citizen Club to address the participating investors.
He assured them that the auction proceeds would be used to improve facilities for all citizens, including investors.
Randhawa added that the highest bids would be presented to the CDA Board for review and final approval.
Meanwhile, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of the CDA Chairman to discuss solid waste management in Islamabad.
Attendees included consultants from NESPAK, the CDA’s Environment Department, and relevant officials from the Sanitation Directorate.
The meeting focused on developing an integrated waste management system that meets the needs of the city’s population.
Participants reviewed the progress made so far and discussed waste management models of cities, such as Lahore and Rawalpindi.
The Chairman emphasized the importance of maintaining high standards of waste management services.
It was agreed that the solid waste management system would cover all areas of Islamabad, including urban, rural, and industrial zones.
The NESPAK team will visit various parts of the city and local Union Councils to assess the specific waste management needs of the population.
