WASHINGTON: The US Department of State on Wednesday said that it follows up the proper usage of American aid to countries.
“Both State and USAID employ a rigorous system of monitoring and evaluating in the provision of an assistance, and we discontinue assistance when it is observed to be misdirected or misused,” the department spokesperson, Matthew Miller said.
“This is something we take very seriously,” the spokesperson said during the daily briefing while responding to a question about alleged mismanagement in financial aid to Islamabad.
