Sindh Chief Secretary Syed Asif Haider Shah chaired a meeting of the Advisory Committee of the Department of Culture on Wednesday and the meeting reviewed the buildings declared heritage by the department.
The meeting was attended by Secretary Culture Kaleemullah Lashari, Advisory Committee member Hameed Haroon and officials of the SBCA among others.
The CS directed that the culture department should also be consulted before declaring buildings dangerous. The meeting approved declaring various places and buildings as cultural heritage. Moreover, a grave in Qambar Shahdadkot was approved as protected heritage.
The cabinet approved the declaration of the old Mukhtiarkar office in the Nauwshero Feroze district the old Civil Court, Taluka Rohri, Sukkur, the Inspection Bungalow (1908) in Kandhkot, the Parsi Institute Compound at Cantonment Quarters, Karachi, including Jhangir Kothari Hall and Katrak Swimming Bath (1905), and Syed Hashmi Reference Library in Malir as protected heritage.
