6kg hashish seized in Malakand

BATKHELA: The Levies Police Station on Wednesday seized over six kilogram of hashish during an operation against drug peddlers and arrested two accused at a checkpoint in Akhtar Ghundi.

Levies Post Commander Fazal Akbar Khan said that the crackdown against drug dealers was going on under the special directives of Deputy Commissioner Malakand Hameed Rahman, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Mohibullah Khan to rid the society from the menace of drugs.

He said that a party of Levies force comprising Muharrars Ali Rahmat, Mukhtiar Khan, Abdul Hussain and Waheed Alam along with other personnel established a checkpoint at Akhtar Ghundi for checking the vehicles.

He said the personnel stopped a rickshaw and upon checking, over six kilogram of hashish were recovered from its hidden cavities.The official said that rickshaw driver Muhammad Suhail Khan and Gohar, residents of Batkhela Khar, were arrested, and a case was registered against them under the Narcotics Act.
