15 ministries have abolished about 4,000 posts and their notifications have also been issued
ISLAMABAD: The implementation of the decision of federal government to eliminate 60 percent of vacant regular posts in the ministries and divisions has been started but many ministries have not yet issued the notification to eliminate the vacancies and sent the compliance report to the Establishment Division.
Taking notice of the slow action, the Establishment Division has sent a reminder letter to the heads of all ministries and divisions, directing them to ensure the implementation of August 27 decision of the federal cabinet. A new letter has been issued in which it has been pointed out that most of the ministries have not yet acted on the cabinet’s decision. The Establishment Division has directed that a report be issued to eliminate the vacancies in the ministries, divisions and federal departments under them, so that a comprehensive report of the implementation can be submitted to the cabinet. According to sources, so far only 15 ministries and divisions out of total 40 have sent a reply to the Establishment Division. According to them, 15 ministries have abolished about 4,000 posts and their notifications have also been issued.
