ISLAMABAD: Punjab Governor Sardar Salim Haider Khan has advised founder Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to leave his stubbornness and sit with President Asif Zardari, then all matters will improve.

“Imran Khan also has to come out of his stubbornness and I would advise him that he should sit under the Zardari’s leadership and things will better,” he said while talking to the media in Rawalpindi after attended the first convocation of Rawalpindi Women's University on Tuesday.

Governor Punjab said that everyone should get benefit from the political insight of President Zardari. “We have to get out of the politics of obstinacy and he would suggest to sit under the leadership of President Zardari, things will get better,” he said.

He said politicians must think of the country first. “Shanghai Conference is going to be held, all parties should forget political differences and come together for the sake of the country,” he said.

He said the protest is the right of opposition but sit at the table and discuss, take things forward.

In the current situation, he said, a personality like Nawabzada Nasrullah Khan is needed.

In reply to a question, the Governor Punjab said there should be a constitutional amendment, but it should be by consensus. “In the constitutional amendments, PPP has the same goal, thought, COD is a signed document. We are putting our case before everyone and want to move things forward by consensus,” he said.

In a reply to another question, there has been a lot of talk about the issue of vice chancellors and he wanted that 100% merit should be followed. “I am not interested to use the powers of the chief minister but at the same time did not give my powers to anyone else,” he said.
