ISLAMABAD: The quarter-finals lineup has been completed in the 37th National Junior Hockey Championship following last-day pool matches here at the Bunda Ground on Tuesday.
The teams making it to the quarter-finals are Wapda, Army, Navy, Police, Customs, Punjab Red, Punjab Blue and KPK A. The quarter-finals will be played today (Wednesday). On the last day of pool matches, KPK A got the better of Federal Area team 4-3 with Sindh A also edging out Punjab White 4-3. Punjab Red went on a goal-scoring spree against Pak Board team beating the side by 16-0. Customs got the better of Police 4-0. Sami, Hamza, Hammad, and Hamza Fayyaz scored one goal each for Customs. Army defeated Punjab Yellow 8-2.
In Wednesday’s quarter-finals, Wapda will take on Navy with Army and Police playing in the second quarter-final. Punjab Red and Punjab Blues will be pitted in the third while Customs will take on KPK A in the last quarter-final.
