MULTAN: The city police have finalised security plan for cricket Test matches to played between Pakistan and England at Multan Cricket Stadium on the instructions of CPO Multan Sadiq Ali Dogar, police said. More than 5000 police officers and personnel will be on duty to ensure foolproof security during the Test matches.
The Test series will start from October 07 at Multan Cricket Stadium. The first two Test matches of the three-Test series will be played in Multan. CPO Multan Sadiq Ali Dogar will oversee all security arrangements himself. Under the supervision of SSP Operations Multan Hasan Raza Khakhi, police personnel will be sent to all the places.
Along with Multan Police, officers and personnel of Traffic Police, Elite Force, Pak Army, Rangers, Special Branch and other law enforcement agencies will perform duties at Multan Cricket Stadium, Multan Airport, roads and parking points. In this regard, a large-scale search operation is being conducted in all important places and surroundings.
Additionally, a team of highly trained and armed commandos, including lady commandos, will patrol around the stadium to deal with any emergency. The security plan elaborated that cars will be parked in Fatima Jinnah Town for cricket fans coming to Multan Cricket Stadium. Spectators will be transported from Fatima Jinnah Town parking point to the stadium by a special shuttle bus service.
Police have asked the cricket fans must carry their CNICs with them to prove their identity. No firearms, toy guns, explosives, firecrackers, cigarettes, matches, lighters, any sharp objects like knives and metal or wood are allowed inside the stadium.
