Seminar speakers for efforts to fight drug menace
They called for the need to take collective action against drug addiction
DIR: Speakers at a seminar here on Monday called for efforts to fight the menace of drugs. Provincial Director Youth Affairs and Deputy Commissioner Upper Dir Naveed Akbar, Med Tech Nursing College Wari Dr Yousaf Khan, Dr Sameer Jan, District Youth Officer Jahanzeb Pasha and others attended the seminar.
They called for the need to take collective action against drug addiction. The speakers termed drug addiction a curse spreading rapidly in society, requiring joint efforts to curb it. The speakers said that keeping a watchful eye on youngsters was necessary to save them from drugs.
They said that students from schools, colleges, and universities should participate in awareness campaigns. They said parents, teachers, and students must collaborate to eradicate drug addiction. “We must work sincerely to protect our youth from drugs,” a speaker said. The seminar was aimed at creating awareness about dangers of using drugs and mobilizing the community to take action against it.
