LAHORE:The Punjab government has initiated the process of establishing the Punjab Clean Water Authority. This was announced by the Parliamentary Secretary for Housing Sultan Mahmood Bajwa during a visit of Punjab Aab-e-Pak Authority here on Monday. The Parliamentary Secretary was briefed on the ongoing projects of PAPA by Chief Executive Officer Syed Zahid Aziz. Barrister Sultan Mahmood Bajwa said the Punjab Clean Water Authority Act has been presented in the Punjab Assembly and will be passed by the house in coming days. 'Provision of clean water in Punjab is among the top priorities of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz,' said Parliamentary Secretary, adding the name of Punjab Aab-e-Pak Authority would be changed to Punjab Clean Water Authority.
He said the supply of clean water in Punjab will be entrusted to one institution. He said Punjab will be divided into three zones and projects will be started on equal basis in North, Central and South Punjab.
