LAHORE: For the last decade and a half, Lahore-based Dar Hockey Academy, which trains boys scouted from all over the country, has been a conveyor belt of quality players for Pakistan`s national teams and also the domestic sides.
The impact of the Dar Hockey Academy is starkly evident at the ongoing National Junior Hockey Championships. Out of the 16 teams participating in the tournament, 10 teams feature players who have been trained at the academy. In total, 23 players from the Dar Hockey Academy are showcasing their skills across various teams.
The distribution of these players across different teams is as follows: Pakistan Customs: 6 players, Police: 4 players Army: 2 players, Navy: 2 players, WAPDA: 1 player, Punjab Blue: 3 players, Punjab Red: 2 players, Punjab Yellow: 1 player Punjab White: 1 player, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK): 1 player
