Online or digital investment apps are becoming a growing problem in Pakistan. People in this country are often not aware of the dangers of investing money on such apps, which advertise lucrative return rates only to take people’s money and disappear. Those who lose their money are often not able to do anything as these apps are often based in foreign countries. Many Pakistanis are already facing dire financial straits and now they are losing money on online scams due to a lack of awareness. Both the people and the government have a duty to understand the dangers that come with these kinds of apps. They should not invest a single rupee in these apps because they are all lies. Aside from stealing one's money, these online scam apps have also been known to hack into people’s personal data. The government needs to spread awareness and inform people of the key signs that they are dealing with an online scam and how they should respond.
