This refers to the news report, ‘Re-verification of all CNICs ordered’ (May 26). This will be a mammoth exercise, and one can only hope that the procedure spelt out will be ‘people friendly’, especially for senior citizens who hold CNICs with lifetime validity.
There should be hundreds of verification centres for a city like Lahore. If not, then one will have to look for influential people to intercede to get our CNICs verified. That is where all sorts of malpractices start. One can only hope the interior minister takes note of this.
