The World Culture Festival Karachi 2024, a vibrant 35-day celebration of global art and culture, continues to captivate audiences at the Arts Council of Pakistan (ACP), Karachi. On the festival’s fourth day, the highlight was the spectacular ‘Dance for Peace’, featuring electrifying performances by both local and international artistes.

Street dancer DRC mesmerised the crowd with his gravity-defying moves, while actors from Kosovo and Rwanda brought their theatrical masterpieces, ‘Waiting for Train’ and ‘Generation 25’, to life, earning widespread applause.

ACP Karachi President Muhammad Ahmed Shah expressed his delight at the enthusiastic public response. He said the festival aims to make it possible for the people of Karachi to experience the diverse cultural beauty of over 40 countries throughout the month.

“We want to present the rich heritage of Sindh on an international platform,” he pointed out. He noted that this is the first time a group from Kosovo has performed in Pakistan, marking a historic moment for cultural exchange.

Artistes from Rwanda expressed their gratitude, saying that it was a pleasure to perform for Karachi’s lively audience, describing the city’s people as welcoming and passionate.

Similarly, performers from Kosovo praised Karachi as one of the best places in the world, filled with warm and peace-loving individuals.

The ‘Dance for Peace’ line-up included the Jazzart Dance Theatre from South Africa, Bhawani Karki from Nepal, and Jihadi Urban Song from Rwanda. Pakistan was proudly represented by the Adnan Butt Group, Sikander, Raina, and students from the ACP’s Theatre and Dance Academy.
