Violation of official rates goes unabated

LAHORE:The prices of some essential items witnessed an increasing trend this week alongside overcharging affecting the general public already suffering with escalated inflation. The government writ didn’t exist anywhere in the market as the sellers are unbridled to charge their wish rates. However, the performance of the government officials is outclassed at social media platforms as it has only become the gauging parameter to the elected government. Official rates were not implemented across the City. The milk, curd, grains, pulses and all type of meat sold higher than the fixed rates.

This week price of chicken was unchanged at Rs397-411 per kg, sold at Rs460-480 per kg and chicken meat fixed at Rs595 per kg, and sold at Rs670-1,000 per kg. The price of potato sugar-free A-grade further increased by Rs3 per kg, fixed at Rs76-83 per kg, sold at Rs140-150 per kg, B-grade at Rs65-70 per kg, and C-grade at Rs55-60 per kg, mixed sold at Rs100-120 per kg.

The price of onion A-grade gained by Rs21 per kg, fixed at Rs136-145 per kg, sold at Rs180-200 per kg, B-grade by Rs15 per kg, fixed at Rs118-125 per kg, and C-grade by Rs25 per kg, fixed at Rs104-110 per kg, mixed sold at Rs140-160 per kg.

The price of tomato A-grade further gained by Rs20 per kg, fixed at Rs130-140 per kg, sold at Rs220-240 per kg, B-grade by Rs20 per kg, fixed at Rs112-120 per kg, and C-grade by Rs20 per kg, fixed at Rs98-105 per kg, mixed sold at Rs180-200 per kg.

The price of garlic local gained by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs375-390 per kg, sold at Rs500-600 per kg, Garlic Harnai reduced by Rs15 per kg, fixed at Rs420-435 per kg, sold at Rs600 per kg, Garlic GI variety further increased by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs210-220 per kg, sold at Rs350-400 per kg and Garlic China by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs530-550 per kg, sold at Rs800-1,000 per kg.

Cucumber Farm was gained by Rs20 per kg, fixed at Rs135-140 per kg, sold at Rs160-180 per kg, and cucumber local price gained by Rs20 per kg, fixed at Rs135-140 per kg, sold at Rs220-240 per kg.

Brinjal price was unchanged at Rs47-50 per kg, sold at Rs80-120 per kg. Bitter gourd unchanged at Rs145-150 per kg, sold at Rs200-220 per kg. Zucchini local was unchanged at Rs165-170 per kg, sold at Rs220-240 per kg. Lemon Chinese was reduced by Rs70 per kg, fixed at Rs270-285 per kg, sold at Rs400-500 per kg. Ladyfinger unchanged at Rs67-70 per kg, sold at Rs120-140 per kg. Turnip was unchanged at Rs125-130 per kg, sold at Rs250 per kg.

Fenugreek (Methi) declined by Rs40 per kg, fixed at Rs250-260 per kg, sold at Rs400 per kg. Pea price was unchanged at Rs290-300 per kg, sold at Rs400-450 per kg.

The price of different variety of apples further gained by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs110-230 per kg, sold at Rs150-400 per kg. The price of Banana A-category further declined by Rs5 per doze, fixed at Rs130-135 per dozen, sold at Rs180-200 per dozen, and B-category by Rs10, fixed at Rs85-90 per dozen, sold at Rs130-150 per dozen, and C-category fixed at Rs67-70 per dozen, sold at Rs100-120 per dozen.

Pomegranate desi was reduced by Rs25 per kg, fixed at Rs240-250 per kg, sold at Rs300-350 per kg, pomegranate kandahari reduced by Rs30 per kg, was fixed at Rs270-280 per kg, sold at Rs400, pomegranate danaydar price increased by Rs15 per kg, fixed at Rs270-280 per kg, sold at Rs350-400 per kg. Grapes Sunderkhani reduced by Rs30 per kg, fixed at Rs300-410 per kg, sold at Rs500-600 per kg, grapes gola by Rs35 per kg, fixed at Rs177-185 per kg, sold at Rs300-400 per kg.
