FAISALABAD: Pakistan’s women’s netball team will compete in the Asian Netball Championship, scheduled for Oct. 18-27 in Bangalore, India, officials said Sunday. The Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) has issued a no-objection certificate allowing the team to participate, according to the Pakistan Netball Federation. The federation said visa applications for the 12 players and five officials have been submitted, and they are expected to travel to India soon.
The federation has also submitted a budget proposal for the championship to the PSB for approval. Officials said British-Pakistani athletes are being considered for inclusion in the squad. However, Pakistan’s participation in the event will remain subject to the issuance of funds and approval of visas.
