FAISALABAD: Pakistan’s Ahmad Baig secured second place at the Asian Development Tour (ADT) Championship in Cambodia, delivering a strong performance with a 19-under-par finish over the four-day event.
Baig posted rounds of 2-under, 7-under, and two consecutive 5-under on the final two days. He was leading after the first three rounds, but Thailand’s Nopparat Panichphol edged him out with a 7-under final round, winning by one stroke.
The tournament, with a total prize pool of $100,000, earned Baig $11,500 for his runner-up finish. The performance moved him to second place in the ADT rankings. According to the Pakistan Golf Federation, Baig’s achievement is a significant milestone in his international career. “This achievement highlights Ahmad’s skill and perseverance, propelling him to second place on the Asian Development Tour with total earnings of $46,772.95,” the federation said in a statement. Baig also recently made the cut at the Asian Tour’s International Series Morocco, earning $20,300, further solidifying his status in international golf.
