India has recently notified Pakistan that it no longer finds it “feasible” to continue with the Indus Waters Treaty in its current form. But, as far as we are concerned, any attempts to change it or to reduce the water inflows in the Indus River and its western tributaries would be tantamount to an alarming situation, possibly even threatening our survival.
Pakistan is already a water-scarce country and we just cannot afford any further loss of precious water. This matter needs urgent attention and a quick and long-term resolution.
