ISLAMABAD: A four-member delegation of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) met Maulana Fazlur Rehman at his residence here on Friday night.
The delegation comprised Syed Naveed Qamar, Dr Sherry Rehman, Nayyar Bokhari and Murtaza Wahab. As it was an unscheduled call, no other leader of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Pakistan (JUIF) was present on the occasion.
According to the JUIF statement, the two sides discussed political situation in the country. However, it is understood that the center of discussion was PPP delegation’s request to Maulana Fazlur Rehman to support package of amendments to the Constitution with particular reference to establishing Constitutional Court.
