Timely redressal of public complaints our priority: IGP
Sindh police chief Ghulam Nabi Memon presided over a meeting held at Central Police Office Karachi on Friday, reviewed all issues and necessary measures regarding the overall performance and reforms of the Complaint Cell, and gave instructions in this regard.
The meeting was attended by the DIG Headquarters, IT, AIGs Admin, Grievance Cell, Operations and PDIT.
Giving a briefing to the participants of the meeting about the overall performance of the department and prevention, the AIG Complaint Cell said the IG Complaint Cell (CMS Portal) receives complaints from the public through letter, telephone, SMS, email and WhatsApp.
The public also has the facility to call and SMS on telephone number 1715, email aigcomplaints.cpo@sindhpolice.gov.pk and WhatsApp number 03141088831 as well as send complaints through letter to the IGP Complaint Cell, CPO Karachi, to resolve their problems.
The IGP said that timely redressal of complaints and appointment of officers of good repute at police stations are our priorities. He directed that all steps should be taken to make it possible to collect and resolve other complaints, including the rights of women and children, by paperless the Grievance Cell.
He directed the DIG Headquarters and AIG Grievance Cell to make the overall process of complaints easier and accessible to the public, while officers involved in issues such as grievance redressal and resolution should not only seriously review the complaints but also ensure compliance report/response from the concerned officer.
