SWABI: Leaders of Swabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) has vowed to work for the revival of Gadoon Amazai Industrial Estate (GAIE) during their tenure.
The SCCI members were speaking at a gathering after the SCCI election. Fazal Rahim Jadoon was elected SCCI’s president, Fazal-e-Amin, senior vice-president and Nadeem Khan, vice-president of the SCCI’s Swabi chapter. The newly elected members would take charge of their position on October 1.
Speaking on the occasion, Fazal Rahim Jadoon, the newly elected president of SCCI, said that political instability in the province had crippled the industry badly, industrial units closed down and workers lost their sources of livelihood.
He vowed to strive hard for the revival of Gadoon Estate. Liaqat Ahmad Khan, SCCI former president, recalled that Gadoon Estate was established in 1988. He said the government had decided to establish the industrial estate after placing a ban on the poppy cultivation.
