Markhors enter Champions Cup final as eliminator washed out

LAHORE: UMT Markhors advanced to the final of the Bahria Town Champions One-Day Cup after their eliminator match against Nurpur Lions at Iqbal Stadium Faisalabad on Friday was washed out.
As per the tournament rules, in the event of a washout during the play-offs, the team that finished higher in the league stage automatically qualifies for the next round. The Markhors, who topped the points table with three wins and one loss and had 38 points, advanced to the final while the Lions, who finished fourth with one win and with 12 points, were eliminated. UMT Markhors will now face Lake City Panthers in the tournament final, scheduled for September 29 at Iqbal Stadium.
