BZU closed amid ‘terror threats’
From Our Correspondent
MULTAN: The Bahauddin Zakariya University was closed amid ‘terror threats’ while students residing in the university hostels left for their hometowns on Friday.
All examinations have also been postponed. According to the security agencies, there is a serious terror threat to the university. The BZU sources said that the security agencies conducted an extensive search operation in hostels between Thursday and Friday midnight but nothing could be recovered.
Meanwhile, talking to The News, BZU spokesman Prof Dr Shabbir Baloch said that the university was closed due to scorching heat, not because of terror threat. He said that the students were facing problems due to prolonged loadshedding and work on the metro bus project. BZU Resident Officer Prof Dr Muqarab said that the university organised a security demo at the admin block to combat with the emergency situations.
