karachi: Police have registered two cases in connection with the killing of a man and his son getting injured for offering resistance during a robbery bid in the Korangi area.
During a mugging attempt in Korangi Industrial Area on Wednesday, a man was killed in front of his son. The brave son also fought back against the robbers, sustaining injuries himself. One of the robbers was also injured who later died.
Over Rs600,000 from a total Rs1 million stolen was recovered from the deceased robber, and search for the other two fleeing robbers is under way.
Police registered the first case under the charges of murder and robbery on the complaint of the injured son, Kashif Mustafa. The second case was registered under the government’s complaint and pertained to the arrest of the robber and the recovery of weapons and a motorcycle from him.
According to police, three robbers on two motorcycles snatched Rs1 million during the incident.
One robber, Imtiaz, was injured in the exchange of fire. As the robbers were fleeing, they encountered police on Korangi Causeway, where the injured robber was arrested, and over Rs60,000 was recovered, while the other two robbers managed to escape.
