Seffy Soomro, an artist based in Sindh, showcased his artwork at an exhibition at Frere Hall in 2017. Afterwards, he inquired about his paintings, only to be told they were lost. Recently, he identified his paintings featured in the drama serial. If true, this is a grave injustice to Soomro, who invested emotions and hard work into his thesis project.
Just as writers connect with their words, artists pour their souls into their creations. Soomro deserves credit and ownership of his paintings. If his claim is legitimate, the artwork should be returned to him. This incident emphasizes the importance of protecting artists' intellectual property rights and respecting their creative endeavours.
