Pakistan is among the top ten countries most vulnerable to climate change, with rising temperatures, glacial melting, and sea-level rise posing significant threats. Agriculture, a cornerstone of the country's economy, is particularly vulnerable. The Pakistani government has recognized the urgency of addressing climate change and has implemented several initiatives. These include investments in renewable energy, reforestation programmes, and climate-resilient infrastructure. However, the scale of the challenge and limited resources present significant obstacles. While government action is crucial, individual and community efforts are equally important. Adopting sustainable practices, such as reducing energy consumption, conserving water, and minimizing waste, can make a tangible difference.
Additionally, raising awareness about climate change and advocating for policy changes can help create a more sustainable future. Pakistan's climate crisis is also not isolated. It is a global issue that requires international cooperation. Developed nations, with their historical contribution to greenhouse gas emissions, must provide financial and technological support to developing countries like Pakistan.
