KARACHI: In the lead-up to Texpo 2024, the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) hosted the inaugural seminar in its series on ‘Sustainability in the Textile & Leather Industry of Pakistan’. The event took place on Wednesday (Sept 25) at the TDAP Headquarters in Karachi.
Renowned industry experts, including Fahad Juma of Gul Ahmed Textiles Ltd; Muhammad Raza Khemji of SABF; Muhammad Junaid of Essential Element; and Shamim Ahmed Shamsi of Zona Pakistan Pvt Ltd shared their insights on the growing importance of sustainable practices in the textile and leather sectors.
Attendees, primarily from small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), had the opportunity to learn about innovative approaches and address the challenges associated with transitioning to a greener and more responsible industry.
The seminar concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Director General of TDAP Basit Rauf who emphasized the importance of collective action in creating a sustainable and greener future for Pakistan.
