PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Thursday reported second polio case, taking the national polio case count to 18.The latest polio was reported from Paya Union Council of Darra Adamkhelsubdivision in the Kohat district.
A 10-month old girl was diagnosed as the second victim of polio virus.The first polio case was reported from Mohmand tribal district on September 6.Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was polio free till September 6, apparently due to serious and nonstop efforts of the government, polio workers and national and international organisations working together for polio eradication.
In places of the province, particularly in the southern districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Kohat, Bannu, Lakki Marwat, Karak, Tank, Dera Ismail Khan, North Waziristan, South Waziristan Upper and South Waziristan Lower, Kurram tribal district, and Orakzai district.
