PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has appointed former governor and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader, Shah Farman, as senior adviser to Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur on political affairs.
According to PTI leaders, the decision was taken on the directives of the party founding chairman Imran Khan. Imran Khan had reportedly directed the chief minister during his recent meeting in Adiala Jail to issue a notification on Shah Farman’s appointment as adviser.
The party sources said that the decision was made earlier, but Shah Farman had refused to accept it with perks and privileges.Shah Farman had reportedly informed the provincial government that he would neither get any salary, nor official residence or a car.
“I am directed to refer to the above noted subject and to state that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister has been pleased to direct that Mr Shah Farman, the former governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, may be designated as “senior adviser to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister on political affairs with immediate effect”.
The services of Mr Shah Farman will be utilised on honourary basis without any remuneration or compensation,” it was stated in an official notification issued here Thursday.The chief minister further desired that the senior adviser on political affairs may consequently be invited to attend all cabinet meetings on standing special invitation.Shah Farman will facilitate and advice the chief minister on important matters related to the government and party policy.
