Businessman Forum sweeps SCCI election
PESHAWAR: All candidates of the Businessman Forum, led by Ilyas Ahmad Bilour defeated opponents from the Sarhad Business Alliance led by Ghulam Ali by a huge margin in the Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) election for 2024-26.
A press release said the Businessman Forum candidates for 10 Corporate and 10 Associate Group seats succeeded in the election arranged on Wednesday.A total of 2,026 votes were polled, including 381 in Corporate and 1645 in Associate Group.
The polling started at 8:00 am which ended at 5:00 PM, without any break.Businessman Forum, Sarhad Business Alliance and Pakistan Business Community had fielded candidates for 10 seats of Corporate and 10 Associate Group.
The voters and supporters gathered inside and outside the polling stations. Special camps and help desks by members and workers of all groups were set up for guidance of voters.A fool-proof security arrangement was made with the deployment police inside and outside the polling stations to maintain law and order situation.
In order to conduct transparent and fair elections, Directorate General of Trade had appointed an officer, Waqas Elahi, as observer.The overall election process was monitored by SCCI Secretary Muqtasid Ahsan.
According to the results announced by Election Commission, the Businessman candidates declared successful included Abbas Fuad Azeem Adnan Nasir, Aftab Iqbal, Fazal Moqeem Khan, Hassan Zahideen, Ashfaq Ahmed, Junaid Altaf, Sabir Ahmad Bangash, Sajjad Zaheer and Ziaul Haq Sarhadi.
In Associate Group, the Businessman Forum candidates clinched a big victory. The winners included Abdul Jalil Jan Abdul Nasir, Gul Zaman, Muhammad Nadeem, Mujeebur Rehman, Saddam Hussain, Saifullah Khan, Shams-ul-Rahim, Sheryar Khan 998 and Sultan Muhammad votes.
The businessman forum leaders and supporters celebrated the historic victory.The BF leaders including Ghazanfar Bilour, Muhammad Afzal, Shaukat Ali Khan and others while talking to reporters after the cleans weep in the election thanked the business community for vote and support.
The leaders said the landslide victory in the election was a testimony of selfless service from the Businessman Forum platform.They reaffirmed commitment to continue indiscriminate service to the business community in the future.
