LAHORE: Rains are predicted in most districts of Punjab from today, with strong winds and thundershowers likely to occur in most districts from September 26th to October 1st.
Rains are expected in Rawalpindi, Murree, Galiat, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujarat, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Sialkot, Narowal, Hafizabad. From September 27, rain with strong winds is expected in Sahiwal, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Nankana Sahib, Chiniot, Faisalabad, Okara, Pakpattan, Kasur and Bhakkar.
PDMA has instructed DCs and administrations to stay alert. DG PDMA Irfan Ali Kathia said continuous 24/7 monitoring is underway. Rescue 1122 and other agencies have been put on high alert.
Citizens were cautioned to stay away from poles and hanging wires, avoid dilapidated buildings and exercise extra care for children by not letting them go to low-lying areas. For assistance, citizens can contact the PDMA helpline at 1129.
